Welcome to my website.
I have been painting since 2009. I decided that it would be fun to create my own art as well as going to galleries as a consumer of art! I picked up a brush, went to local classes and made a start. Originally I tried water colour and started classes in 2004 at Leamington College but after about 3 years I decided to change to oils, a medium that I think I am better suited to.
I paint in a representational and mainly traditional style, using strong and bold colours. Still life has been my main passion and although I have painted a variety of subjects I tend to return to still life. I love working with ordinary objects such as ceramics and fruit, exploring their colour values, texture and form.
Also, they do not argue back and will sit quietly for weeks!
I have exhibited work in several exhibitions including Gallery150, Wilde's Wine Bar, Pedlars Gallery Warwick, Fosters Frames Stratford and the Jam Factory Oxford, South Yorkshire Artists show at the Old Market Gallery Rotherham, Leamington Spa Art Gallery, Althorpe Studios and the Floor One Gallery in Rugby. Most of these exhibitions were organised by the Association of Midland Artists (AMA).
