About me

I have been painting since 2009 when I decided that it would be fun to create my own art.

I picked up a brush, went to local classes and made a start. Originally I tried water colour and started classes in 2004 at Leamington College but after about 3 years I decided to change to oils, a medium that I think I am better suited to.

I paint in oils in a representational and mainly traditional style, using strong and bold colours. Still life is my main passion. I have painted a variety of subjects but also return to still life. I love working with ordinary objects such as ceramics and fruit, exploring their colour values, texture and form. Another good thing to consider is that they do not argue back and will sit quietly for weeks!

I am currently the Chair of the Association of Midland Artists, an organisation supporting local artists in Warwickshire.
